PROJECTS

Pre Production

For my theme, I chose futuristic because I liked how these futuristic vehicles have a clean look.  I then searced for some references on Pinterest and start observing and studying the concepts to understand better of the theme.

Thumbnail Sketches

Fig 1.2 Thumbnail Sketches (Air Vehicle)

For the air vehicle, I chose to do some kind of a bat hybrid fighter jet. I sketched out 5 different designs for the concept I chose.

Fig. 1.3 Thumbnail Sketches (Water Vehicle)
For the water vehicle, I knew I wanted to make either a whale or shark hybrid submarine. I ended up with whae hybrid, but in the fifth design, it can be seen that i decided to give the shark design a go.

Fig. 1.4 Thumbnail Sketches (Land Vehicle)
I decided to a whale hybrid sportscar or a rhino rover. I was experimenting with different vehicles on this one because I wasn't sure on which one would suit the most.

Silhouette Sketches

These are the silhouettes for each design, because it is meant for our experimentation and ideas so we not only stick to our first idea but expand out creativity and try out others as well.

Details and Perspectives

I decided to use my air vehicle and water vehicle for my final project.

Fig. 1.11 Perspectives and Function (Air vehicle)
For the design overall, I picked the second design from my sketches, and added some things to it. and considered the function as well. I studied about fighter jet and their parts and tried to applied it to my design.

For the water vehicle, I ended up using my first design from my sketches and further design the concept.

Production

For Project 2 I decided to sculpt the fighter jet in ZBrush. Below is my final vehicle blockout.

Post Production and Profiling

In this last project, I rendered everything once again and create the key artwork for the vehicles as well as compiling all of them for profiling.

REFLECTION

Overall, this module was very interesting and unfamiliar to me since I have never done something quite like this before. Despite a lot of struggles and setbacks, I enjoyed learning this module and throughout the entire process of doing the projects. I learned a lot about vehicle design and experimentation in concepts as well as the execution.
