Task 2: Conceptual Development

TASK PROGRESSION

In the second task, we were assigned to create the character's action poses, expressions, as well as additional attires.

Poses
Fig 1.1 Poses Reference

For the reference, Ms. Anis suggested to look into the snow queen from "Alice in Wonderland" as a reference since it fits the same vibe. I gathered some more pose references that shows the character's personality and overall elegance.

I then made 8 different poses for the character. These aren't really crazy action poses since this character does not do any physical fights or actions that require a lot of movements.
Fig 1.3 Final Poses
From the 8 different sketches, 4 were chosen as I feel suit the character the most which portray her elegance and gracefulness.

Expressions
Fig 1.4 Expressions
Figure 1.4 shows the 8 expression sketches I made for the character. I originally sketched the character with the first expression, but I eventually ended up with the sixth expression. The reason for this is that the first expression gives off more of a sad and stressed emotion while I wanted my character to look more peaceful and wise.

Additional Attires
Fig 1.5 Additional Attires
Next thing I did was creating the additional attires of what the character could wear other than the original attire. These four attires are taken from my original thumbnail sketches of the character. They are all dresses that takes time in the victorian era.
