INSTRUCTIONS

PROJECT 1

For this project, we were assigned to sculpt the blockout of our character using Zbrush.

Fig 1.1 Character Design

This is the character that I've design as a based for this sculpture. Below is my first attempt in making the character's blockout where I was still struggling because I wasn't familiar with the software yet.

Fig 1.2 First Attempt
Mr. Kannan told me to make the character less skinny so the muscle flow can be seen since it's one of the main objectives of this project, or else it would just end up being a stick man.

Fig 1.3 Final Attempt
In my second and final attempt, I first repositioned the hands so it won't be too close to the body. Then I proceeded to add more to the body and made the muscle flow clearer since the character is originally skinny. At this point I was already getting used to brush and the shortcuts, as well as the overall navigation, so my workflow is a lot faster. However, storage issues often made Zbrush quit unexpectedly which made me lose my progress.

FEEDBACK

The hands are too closed to the body, and don't make it too skinny so the muscle flow can be seen.

REFLECTION

In this project, I learned a lot not only about a new software but also in applying the things I learned in the exercises before. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of doing this project and am grateful to be given the opportunity to learn this module.
