INSTRUCTIONS
Project 1 : Instructable Poster
For this particular project, we were assigned to create an infographic poster of a recipe selected from Pasta Grannies on youtube.
This is the recipe video that I have chosen for this project. This video shows
an original recipe created by Paulina and Giuseppe, Sicilian Pasta and Lobster
Soup.

Visual Research

These are the references I found for this project. Movement in posters is always nice as can be seen in poster #1 where it's most emphasized, but the sense of unity does play a big role in it too. I also love the organization in the second poster and how it can fit many details without looking messy or cramped. For the last poster, I particularly love the color palette and illustration style.
Design Process

First, I sketched out my idea and the layout for this poster. I was aware that I had a lot of information to fit into one poster since the recipe basically has 3 parts. So I had to figure out how to arrange and organize them so they can all fit and the grouping is clear. I decided to separate them using the lobster sauce illustration.

I finalized my lobster sauce illustration on procreate and moved it to ai where I start to arrange it and illustrate the other ingredients, steps, as well as the final product.

I then added the steps, and arranged it on the poster.
Final Outcome

In the final outcome, I rearrange all the steps and illustrations so it flows better and added some more details as well as reliquifying the lobster sauce so it looks more fluid and to emphasize the movement.
For our second project, we were assigned to animate the instructable poster we have made. I then organized all the elements in illustrator and moved imported them to After Effects and did the animation there. Lastly, I also added sound to the background.

FEEDBACK
REFLECTION
Experience : I find this project pretty exciting as I have never made an instructable poster before, particularly recipes. I learned a lot, both from the lectures and the process of doing this project. I do have some struggles, I think mainly because I picked a pretty challenging recipe. The recipe technically contains three parts where I have to fit them all in one poster.
Observations : I see that organization is very important especially when there's a lot of small details like steps and ingredients in this particular project.
Findings : I find that making instructable posters are definitely not as simple as it looks, the poster has to be clear and easy to understand and with that many details, it is pretty challenging.
